| Beschreibung [fr] | A l‘occasion de la commémoration des 150 ans de l‘Etat fédéral suisse en 1998, la Conférence suisse des directeurs cantonaux de l‘instruction publique (CDIP) a mandaté ce rapport. Il vise à répondre aux deux questions fondamentales suivantes: Quel est l‘état de l‘éducation à la citoyenneté voir de la formation civique et éthique dans les écoles suisses? Et deuxièmement quels sont les effets résultant de l‘enseignement politique et quelles sont les lacunes ou erreurs? Enfin, il avait pour objectif de formuler les principes d‘une éducation à la citoyenneté moderne. Le rapport constate que la situation de l‘éducation à la citoyenneté dans les écoles suisses est décevante. Il illustre notamment le fait qu‘il n‘existe pas concept global, constation d‘autant plus étonnante au vu de la nature particulièrement participative de notre démocratie. | Beschreibung [en] | This report was commissioned by the Swiss Conference of Cantonal Ministers of Education on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Swiss Confederation in 1998. The report was designed to answer the following two questions: What is the state of political, civic and ethic education in Swiss schools? What is the impact of instruction in these subjects and what, if any, gaps and deficiencies can be identified? Another objective was to formulate principles of a political education policy that meets contemporary needs. Among other findings, the report revealed a lack of direction in political and civic education in Switzerland, which is astonishing given the well developed participatory democracy in this country.
