| Leírás [de] | Equi bedeutet Employment – Qualification – Innovation, es ist ein wissenschaftliches Zentrum innerhalb der Abteilung für Soziologie des Institutes für Höhere Studien (IHS) ( http://www.ihs.ac.at ) in Wien. Als Tätigkeitsbereiche werden anwendungsorientierte Auftragsforschung und akademisch orientierte Forschung sowie deren Vermittlung im Rahmen der postgradualen Lehre am IHS bezeichnet. Bei den Forschungsaktivitäten profitiert equi insbesondere von der multidisziplinären Struktur des IHS sowie vom Besuch international renommierter GastprofessorInnen. In einem „equigramm” (pdf-Dokument, 24 Seiten) wird übersichtlich und in nüchterner und klarer Sprache, durch die die wissenschaftliche Qualität dieser Forschungsgruppe deutlich wird, das Arbeitsspektrum dargelegt. Im Bereich Bildung/Beschäftigung erscheinen die prognostischen, projektiven Methoden besonders wertvoll zur Einschätzung von künftigen Szenarien. Ungefähr zehn wissenschaftliche MitarbeiterInnen werden vorgestellt, die AuftraggeberInnen und KooperationspartnerInnen genannt. Die Aufzählung der Projekte und Publikationen der letzten Jahre umfasst sieben Seiten. equi konzentriert sich insbesondere auf die Erforschung der Schnittstellen und Rückkoppelungen zwischen Beschäftigungs-, Bildungs- und Innovationssystem, wobei geschlechtsspezifischen und sozialen Disparitäten besondere Bedeutung zu kommt. Der Bildungspolitik werden unter anderem mit Monitoring des Bildungssystems durch quantitative Indikatoren und Kosten-Nutzen-Analysen sowie Projektion von Bildungsangebot, Bildungsnachfrage und Qualifikationsstruktur, soziale Ungleichheit im Bildungssystem und Akzeptanzforschung Entscheidungsgrundlagen zur Verfügung gestellt. Die Beteiligung von Bildungseinrichtungen, insbesondere der Hochschulen und Universitäten, an Innovationsprozessen wird geprüft. Das equi gehört der Arbeitgruppe Hochschulforschung (IFF) an. |

It is a science cell within the department of sociology at the Vienna-based Institute for Advances Studies (IHS) (http://www.ihs.ac.at). The main activities listed are application-oriented, commissioned research and academically oriented research, as well as their conveyance in postgraduate courses at the Institute. The research activities carried out within the framework of equi benefit specifically from the multidisciplinary structure of the Institute, as well as from the visit of internationally renowned guest professors. The range of work is outlined in an ”equigramm” (pdf-document, 24 pages) which has a well-organised structure and uses clear-cut and matter-of-fact language. The projective forecasting methods are particularly useful for assessing future scenarios in the field of education/employment. The website presents ten scientific staff members, lists the agencies or bodies commissioning research and the cooperation partners. The list of projects and publications of recent years covers seven pages. Equi focuses specifically on studying the interfaces and feedbacks between employment, education and innovation systems, with particular emphasis being placed on gender-specific and social disparities. It furnishes decision-making bases for educational policy makers by, inter alia, monitoring the educational system through quantitative indicators and cost-benefit analyses as well as projecting educational supply and demand, the qualification structure, social imbalances in the educational system and acceptance research. Equi reviews the involvement of educational institutions, in particular of universities, in innovation processes. It is a member of a task force on university research. |
