| Description [de] | Übergeordnetes Ziel des gemeinnützigen Vereins „Österreichische Computergesellschaft (OCG)“ ist die Förderung der Informationstechnologie unter Berücksichtigung ihrer Auswirkungen auf Mensch und Gesellschaft. Als Computer-Dachorganisation der österreichischen Verbände und Institutionen entsendet die OCG Vertreter in internationale Dachverbände, wie den Weltdachverband IFIP, den Europäischen Dachverband CEPIS oder die Trägerorganisation des Europäischen Computer Führerscheins, die ECDL Foundation. Der Link http://www.ecdl.at/ führt direkt zum ECDL-Büro, das in der Funktion der österreichischen Koordinationsstelle für den Europäischen Computer Führerschein dem OCG-Verein angehört. Die OCG unterstützt gesellschaftspolitische Anliegen im Sinne der Entwicklung Österreichs auf dem Weg in die Informationsgesellschaft, setzt wirtschaftsfördernde Maßnahmen für IT-Professionals, entwickelt Ausbildungsprogramme und gestaltet Wettbewerbe, die sich an unterschiedliche Zielgruppen richten. Die Veranstaltung von professionellen IT-Arbeitskreisen mit wissenschaftlichem und wirtschaftlichem Bezug gehört ebenso zu den Aktivitäten des Vereines wie die Förderung nationaler und internationaler Forschungsaufträge und die laufende Herausgabe von Fachpublikationen. |
| Description [en] | Österreichische Computer Gesellschaft (OCG) is a non-profit organisation which aims at promoting information technology whilst considering its impact on individuals and society at large. As the umbrella organisation of Austrian IT associations and institutions, OCG delegates representatives to international umbrella organisations, such as the world umbrella organisation IFIP, the European umbrella organisation CEPIS or the ECDL Foundation. The link http://www.ecdl.at/ gives direct access to the ECDL office which - as the Austrian coordination agency for the European Computer Driving Licence - is a member of OCG. OCG supports social policy concerns such as Austria\'s development towards the information society, implements measures to promote business for IT-professionals, develops training programmes and designs contests for different target groups. OCG\'s activities include the organisation of professional IT working groups on scientific and economic issues, as well as sponsoring national and international research contracts and regular technical publications. |
